"The Tree of Learning"

"The Tree of Learning" is a VSA Art Award granted to Drakes Creek Middle School. Follow our art journey as we create a tile mosaic that will become a public art piece for our school. Students will be making their own tiles out of clay and including symbols that represent their learning here at our school.

Day #2 Hard at Work!

Tristan, Adisa and Joneka working on their clay tiles.  The students worked with a partner to create 2 seperate tiles.  They had to pay attention to how the tree design was woven throughout the 2 tiles.

Creating the tiles!









Today was Clay Day!  The students drew out their ideas yesterday and today they made a tile and added the coils and symbols.
